if $\text{[math]}$ is a vector, then define the $\text{[math]}$ -valued function $\text{[math]}$ with
$\text{[math]}$ usually, the $\text{[math]}$ -norm is considered, $\text{[math]}$ , but other norms can be applied aswell.
